Veteran's Day, originally known as Armistice Day, commemorates the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. The “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” marked the cessation of hostilities, and since then, we have come together each year to honor all who have served in our Armed Forces. This tradition reminds us of the countless sacrifices made by soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and all who have worn the uniform. Today, we celebrate not only their service but also the ideals they fought to protect.
